BOARDING FACILITY

Welcome to Paradise!

Our mission of excellence here at Paradise Boarding Facility is to provide a safe, comfortable and healthy environment for your pet. We want you to feel confident that while your pet stays with us, it is receiving the highest quality care possible. We are the premier boarding facility in Maryland that specializes in taking care of special needs pets. Under the guidance of Dr. Burke-Schwarz, DVM, CCRP and our rehabilitation department we provide boarding for post-operative orthopedic and neurological patients. Your pet does not need to be special needs to receive our devoted boarding services; all feline and canine friends are welcome!

Our Senior Kennel Supervisors are trained to administer medication to even the most difficult patients. Please be advised that we do charge a “medication administration” fee per dose per medication unless considered a medical boarder.  Medical boarding applies to the care of diabetics, epileptics, and pets with significant geriatric related or other health problems.  The medical boarding fee includes the administration of all medications.  The determination of price and whether a boarder qualifies for medical boarding will be decided by the kennel management.

We encourage you to visit our facility before boarding your pet so that we may answer all your questions and introduce you to our staff. You may stop by for a tour during our business hours Monday to Friday, no appointment necessary.  We ask that you please do not bring your pet with you for the tour.

To prevent the spread of contagious diseases, you must have written verification that your pets are properly vaccinated and tested two weeks prior to boarding.  Specific information on the vaccinations and tests required for boarding are discussed in the dog and cat sections.  To safeguard all of our boarders against the possibility of inadvertently introducing any type of contamination into the environment, including fleas, we do not accept bedding from home.

Upon admission, an initial check-in exam will be performed on your pet by one of our trained kennel staff members.  Check-in exams are necessary for monitoring your pet’s progress during their stay with us.  We do an external check for any lumps/wounds, condition of the eyes/ears, coat, paws, and combed over for fleas/ticks.  Any pet that is found to have any signs of fleas or ticks will be treated as necessary at your expense upon arrival.  In order to board, your pet must be able to be handled safely during the check-in process and without risk of injury to our kennel staff.   If you wish to discuss any concerns please contact us.

All boarders are monitored daily for appetite, elimination, and overall well-being.  Our experienced staff is trained to recognize signs of illness and seek the attention of a staff veterinarian when needed.  A staff veterinarian routinely monitors geriatric boarders.  If your pet becomes ill while boarding, a staff veterinarian will examine your pet and attempt to contact you.  If unable to contact you, the veterinarian will provide necessary treatment for your pet’s welfare.  The owner is responsible for all charges related to medical services.  A staff veterinarian will also be on call after hours to consult with kennel staff.

In addition to boarding, we also offer additional services such as day care, baths, nail trims, and playtimes.  For more information, including pricing, please feel free to contact us.
